No word on whether they’ll give any credit for attending a Tea Party Protest.
But I’m not holding my breath for that one. Nope. Ivy League schools only seem to give credit for Marxism.
From the article:
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — Columbia University will offer a new course for upperclassmen and grad students next semester. An Occupy Wall Street class will send students into the field and will be taught by Dr. Hannah Appel, a veteran of the Occupy movement.
The course begins next semester and will be divided between class work at Columbia’s Morningside Heights campus and fieldwork that will require students to become involved with the Occupy movement outside of the classroom.
The course will be called “Occupy the Field: Global Finance, Inequality, Social Movement” it will be run by the anthropology department.
At this point, the only way real life over at Columbia University could better imitate Bias Incident: The World’s Most Politically Incorrect Novel is if they changed the name of the Anthropology Department to “Anthrogynology.”

….You know Ari, we still need to discuss the dispersing of your life savings for finding an example of a professor being censored for being critical of Bush.
I didn’t happen to see a picture of Bush being fatally mistreated, if I’m not mistaken. You can’t criticize anybody to death, you know.
Because suddenly shutting down ideas and unpopular opinions is totally cool with you? Oh. As long as they’re ideas and opinions YOU don’t agree with.
What?
My last comment was directed at your comment about me dispersing my life savings to you. My original claim was that the Campus Police Chief would not have done the censorship that they did if there was a picture of Bush being fatally mistreated. You did not supply one.
so, i’m not sure where your last comment is coming from.
Soooo to you, there is no proof of liberal speech being suppressed unless it is a caricature of liberal talking points being suppressed. (This is also really silly in that can you even provide proof that someone ever posted such a poster)
Also, can I just say that in hindsight, that was so stupid. At no point did anything political enter that debate. There’s nothing from that case to suggest that it was done because the police chief was a liberal kill-joy. That was all in your head. It was an out context quote about killing someone. Out of context quotes get people in trouble. Given school shootings, overly sue-happy parents, offended students possibly throwing a hissy fit, no wonder the school addressed it as a “sensitivity” issue. But there was never anything to suggest that it was done because they were left of center.
Who is it that supports citizen disarmament in this country? Is it right wingers? Is it libertarians?
What does that have to do with the poster and free speech?
